This tealight holder is made from bog oak - oak wood that has been preserved in wet soil for hundreds or thousands of years. The long time underground has naturally darkened the wood and given it deep black hues.
The shape is based on the wood's original structure. Raw edges have been preserved, while some surfaces have been worked with carvings on slopes. The contrast between the raw and the worked gives a tactile and lively expression.

Treatment:
