This tealight holder is crafted from bog oak – oak wood that has been preserved in wet soil for hundreds or thousands of years. The long time underground has naturally darkened the wood and given it deep black and dark brown hues.
The shapes are based on the wood's original structure. Raw edges and natural cracks are preserved, while the surfaces are processed with carved slopes. The contrast between the raw and the processed gives a tactile and lively expression.
Each tealight holder is unique in shape, structure, and colour tone.

Treatment:
The tealight holder has been treated with oil to nourish and protect the wood's surface. For maintenance, the vase can be wiped with a damp cloth. If it dries out, a new layer of oil can be applied. See more about wood product maintenance.
