The vase is turned from oak. The wood has been buried underground, where moisture, soil, and time have left their marks. This has initiated a natural darkening, particularly evident along the edges where the oak has turned black.
The wood's time underground has made parts of the material more porous, giving the surface a unique character and making the vase an object that requires careful handling.
The vase is a sculptural object in itself, but can also be used for dried flowers. With a small glass insert, it can also be used for fresh flowers.
