This platter is turned in beech with a shallow rim and a flat base, perfect for arranging decorative items or serving food. The base has a curved profile, creating a floating effect and making the platter easy to grip. Suitable for both everyday use and special occasions.
The wood lay directly on the ground for six months and underwent the spalting process – a natural decomposition and staining process of the wood fibers. The result is beautiful and unique patterns, colors, and streaks in the wood.
The platter is turned from wet wood. During the drying process, the wood begins to shrink, which has caused variations in its shape. The cracks are filled with brass.
