A sculptural vase turned from ash root – the point where the trunk transitions into the roots, and the wood's structure is unpredictable and full of life.
In this area, the fibers grow in many directions, weaving together in chaotic patterns, which give the surface its dramatic expression.
The vase is turned from wet wood with an original circular opening. The large breakthroughs on the sides occurred where the roots had encapsulated soil and stones, and opened further during drying.
The form appears cohesive and calm, but is broken by these openings, which add a raw and lively expression to the vase.
The vase is turned with respect for the wood's structure and movement, and stands as a sculptural object in itself.

Treatment:
